Wiring a new build is the one time you get to do it right from the start, with no old system to work around. A new cabin at the lake, a detached shop or garage, an addition on the house, a shed that needs power. The wiring laid out from scratch around how the space will actually be used, sized for what it has to carry, and built to the current code. We wire new construction across Winnipeg and the Interlake, from a garage in the city to a full cabin out on the water.
The advantage of new work is planning. With the framing open, we lay out circuits, lighting, and low-voltage the way they should be, rather than fishing around a finished structure later.
We handle the whole electrical scope on a new build: the service or sub-feed, the panel, the rough-in wiring, the lighting and outlets, and the low-voltage for internet, TV, and cameras. On a detached building that means getting power out to it, and because we own our equipment, our crew trenches the feed, sets the panel, and wires the building without bringing in another contractor.
A new build runs through two main electrical stages, timed around the rest of the construction:
Getting the rough-in right is the whole game, since it is far harder to move a circuit once the drywall is up. That is why we like to be in early, while the layout is still being settled, so the outlets and lighting land where you will actually want them.
Out at the lake around Gimli and Winnipeg Beach, new cabins and garages are some of our most common new-construction work, and on acreages near St Andrews it is shops and additions. A new build is also the right time to size the service for everything the property will eventually run, to rough in the automation and low-voltage while the walls are open, and to plan the residential wiring around how the space will be used.
On new work, the wiring sets up everything that comes after, so it pays to have it planned and done properly the first time. We handle it end to end in-house, line voltage and low voltage, licensed and to code and backed by a one-year workmanship warranty, with one crew accountable from the feed to the finish. We work to the builder’s schedule so the rough-in is ready for inspection when the framing is done and the finish lands when the rest of the trades are wrapping up.
Yes, from the feed to the finish. We get power out to the building, including the trenching, set the panel, and wire it for whatever it will be used for, from a parking garage to a heated workshop.
Yes. New cabins are some of our most common new-construction work in the Interlake, and we handle the whole electrical scope, including the service, the wiring, and the low-voltage.
Early. The best time to plan the wiring is before the walls close, and ideally while the layout is still being decided, so the circuits, lighting, and low-voltage suit how you will use the space. We are glad to weigh in at the planning stage.
