Stonewall is a growing town northwest of Winnipeg in the RM of Rockwood, named for the limestone that built it. The old kilns and the quarry at Quarry Park are still the landmark here, a reminder that this was lime and stone country long before it became a commuter town. Today it is one of the busier bedroom communities outside the city, with established homes near the centre, newer subdivisions filling in around the edges as people move out from Winnipeg, and the open south-Interlake farmland starting right past the town limits. That spread, from a 1970s bungalow to a brand-new build to a working grain farm, makes for a broad range of electrical work.
In town, the older homes near the core often need a panel upgrade before a basement finish or a renovation, while the new-subdivision homes come to us for EV chargers and added circuits as commuting families add a second vehicle. Across both we do the general residential work of an active town. Out past the limits, the grain farms and acreages need agricultural electrical for barns, bins, and outbuildings, along with backup power for the yard.
The age spread is the thing to watch in Stonewall. A home built when the town was smaller may still run an undersized panel that struggles once a modern kitchen and an electric vehicle are added, while a new build a few streets over is wired but waiting for the charger and basement circuits the family actually wants. Out on the farms, an operation that has grown over the years often draws more than the original yard service was meant to carry. One in-house crew covers the whole range, from a city-style EV install to a long underground feed across a farmyard, with our own equipment for the rural runs and 24/7 emergency response behind it.
Yes. The farmland around Stonewall is part of our agricultural service area, and we wire barns, outbuildings, grain handling, and backup power, as well as residential work in town.
Yes. We install Level 2 EV chargers on Stonewall homes, handling the load calculation, the permit, and the install, including longer runs to detached garages.
Often, yes. Many of the older homes near the town centre have a panel that is full or undersized, so before a basement finish or a big renovation we check the service and upgrade the panel if it cannot carry the added circuits safely.
